7. Couples carrying special morphological alterations in the oocytes or sperm cells.

CAN GENETIC PROBLEMS BE DIAGNOSED AFTER OCCURRENCE OF PREGNANCY?

Yes. It is possible to carry out a chromosomal analysis by obtaining a sample from the amniotic fluid. Furthermore, ultrasonographic studies are also helpful.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF THE DRUGS USED?

Small bruises and discomfort can be seen in injection sites when these drugs are given by injections. Nasal sprays and subcutaneous injections may cause fatigue, pains in muscles and joints, and transitory complaints similar that of menopause. Sometimes gonadotropins may cause excessive stimulation in the ovaries called the "Ovarian Hyper-Stimulation Syndrome". Serious problems that require hospitalization may arise in the very serious forms of that syndrome.
